Skills Bootcamps

What are Skills Bootcamps?

They are flexible courses of at least 60 hours of training giving people the opportunity to gain new skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer OR gain new skills in an existing job. They are free to all learners and can be online, face-to-face, or a mixture of both depending on the subject.

Who Are They For?

Skills Bootcamps are for most adults over the age of 19 residing in the areas of North East Lincolnshire and Rutland. Adults who are unemployed or self-employed can attend Skills Bootcamps to get the skills they need to find a job or gain new contracts. Employed adults, who already have a job, can attend Skills Bootcamps to learn a new skill to help them find a brand new job with a new employer.

Employed adults who want to remain with their existing employer and learn new skills to help them take on new roles and responsibilities, or fill skills gaps within the business, should speak to their employer. Employers are required to make a small contribution to the cost of the Skills Bootcamps if they want to send their own members of staff onto Skills Bootcamps, and the Government funds the rest. Employers with fewer than 250 employees contribute 10% of the cost and large businesses pay 30% of the cost.

Competum provide quality training and they are a very credible service provider. They sort competent and experienced facilitators that are capable of sharing their knowledge in a manner that has the attendees interested throughout the course. The facilitators also presents the course in such a way that it is applicable to the work that is performed on site. This makes it easier for the attendees to apply what they have learnt on site. I would recommend Competum as they are able to provide training to suit your needs.
